MBA Olympics
Hi Guys,
You have to check out my MBA Olympics pics. I just got back from Paris (actually that is a lie, I just got back from a farm town one hour drive south of Paris...HEC, the school we were at would have you believe they are located in Paris. If their school is in Paris, my school is in Amsterdam). HEC hosts a competition every year which brings together students from the top MBA schools in Europe to compete in all sorts of sporting events. The maximum amount of students a school can bring is 225. Schools are awarded points not only for wins but for participation. RSM (my school) decided..."Well we are no good at sports...lets go for participation!" Therefore we competed in every sport possible. The matter in which we did this was quite interesting. In the morning the organizers told us what sport we would play, then we would play. Often we did not know the rules. This doesn't sound too bad until you realize that most schools brought enough students to only play one or two sports (around 225 students...RSM had 65), and secondly most schools have actual teams with coaches and uniforms...I mean these teams actually practice weekly and travel for games...and we showed up in the morning and asked what the ball looked like. We were by far the most exciting, the most interesting, and certainly the loudest school there. While most schools wore their boring school colors like dark blue and cream, RSM wore head to toe orange, the country color. We were certainly the most dedicated team. Up at 7am every morning, played sports from 9-6 everyday and partied all night long for three days. Most of us lost our voices, many of us were hung over most of the day....it was great! I really can't begin to explain how awesome it was, just check out the pics and remember that RSM rocks!

Birthday
Hey Guys,
I posted some pics up from Hans and my b-day BBQ we had last weekend. Hans' parents, sisters, sisters' bf's, Mark, Hannah, Daniel, and Marlieka came over for an nice summer time BBQ and of course it rained like hell the whole time. Hans constructed a (surprisingly) very sturdy canopy out of a tarp. We had a great time. Thank you everyone for coming and for the wonderful gifts!!!
